MAXIMUM INTEGRATION, AERODYNAMIC IMPROVEMENT AND COMFORT FOR PERFORMANCE OUTSIDE THE MUNICIPALITY
The 795 LIGHT RS is the most successful aero road bike in terms of integration and boasts more than 30 years of know-how and experience from LOOK engineers. It is characterized by perfect management of the geometric design of the frames, the choice of tube thicknesses and the assembly of carbon materials used during their processing.
This version, which integrates comfort as a real component of performance, benefits from 5 important developments:
- Routing of cables to facilitate assembly and maintenance.
- Bottom bracket in 100% carbon for greater rigidity.
- E-POST 2 EVO.
- Cover DI2 for easier connection.
- ADH2 handlebar with integrated QUICK RELEASE.
AERO 795 RS TECHNOLOGY
Tested in the wind tunnel, the 795 was entirely designed to make the best aerodynamic sections with a profile called NACA (National Aerospace Committee for Aeronautics). Its NACA profile is perfect on all horizontal pipes with respect to the ground, allowing the 795 LIGHT RS to benefit from an 11.7% increase in aerodynamics compared to a traditional racing bike (type 695), which is equivalent to gain 1 minute and 14 seconds on a 100 km circuit exit.
Designing a bike does not mean for LOOK to create a frame and then the components.
The design of a LOOK carbon bike is considered as a whole, in which the components are designed and then designed with the frame. Each element attached to the frame must be able to improve the behavior of the bike.
From this integration there is an essential design and fluid lines that LOOK knows how to manage with care.
CARBON TECHNOLOGY HM 1.5K
HM: High module. "High range" fibers. Their rigidity is very high, about twice that of HR. The HM fibers allow to greatly increase the rigidity without adding weight. LOOK bikes use HM 3K or 1.5K fibers, the latter consists of a thinner and therefore lighter mesh. (eg 1.5K wire = 1500 filaments in 1 wire)
After more than 30 years, LOOK has acquired a unique know-how and experience, which allow it to mix different types of fibers according to the properties sought.
We manage the parameters of the carbon composition in order to provide the desired behavior to a product.
E-POST 2 EVO SEAT POST
The E-POST 2 EVO seat post allows an important adjustment of the backrest of the saddle and evolves at the level of its clamping system in the frame. A "tightening angle" allows a strong seat post in the frame. The external elastomer allows the seat post to absorb vibrations and further improve rider comfort.
The AEROSTEM coupling is in HM carbon. Aerodynamic and reversible, it offers a wide range of adjustments. Its amplitude varies from -13 ° to + 17 °, allowing the cyclist to reach the lowest positions as well as the highest ones. 6 connection lengths are available: from 80 mm to 130 mm every 10 mm.
Thanks to its rigidity, it allows to obtain an excellent driving precision. With its 149 g, the AEROSTEM attachment is extremely light.
COVER DI2 FOR A MORE EASY CONNECTION
The DI2 connector is always positioned in the frame by means of a small cover, right behind the connection. This cover has been renewed to allow the connector to fit on the lid. In this way all DI2 functions are accessible from the top and without having to open the cover, even for charging the battery.
ADH2 HANDLEBAR WITH INTEGRATED QUICK RELEASE.
This version integrates the function of rapid opening and closing of the brakes during the replacement of the wheel (Quick release), as well as the adjustment of recovery of the wear of the pads. Integrated brake adjustment is easier and more accessible on the bike while driving.
The handlebar has on both sides of the attachment a section with a diameter of 31.8 mm which allows the mounting of an elbow rest and extensions to adopt an aerodynamic position on the bike, as well as a support for an odometer or camera.
The aero handlebar design has been optimized to provide more space for the rider while standing on the pedals and thus avoid any risk of collision between his knees and the back of the handlebar.
DIRECT DRIVE CONCEPT
The "Direct Drive Concept" concept of LOOK consists in optimizing all the parameters of the driving position. This happens in particular thanks to the integration of the attachment in the frame extension, but also to the use of a short and conical steering bush.
All these parameters allow to obtain an excellent rigidity, necessary for an optimal driving precision.
